“So Get Up” misidentified credits

Over time, the online biographies, interviews, and promotional materials of DJ Vibe and Rui da Silva have consistently presented "So Get Up" as solely their own work. They have often regarded Ithaka’s well-known vocal poem as a mere sampled component instead of acknowledging it as a fundamental collaborative effort. Throughout the years, DJ Vibe and Rui da Silva's online artist bios, interviews, and promotional descriptions have repeatedly depicted "So Get Up" as entirely their own creation. They have frequently considered Ithaka’s distinctive vocal poem as a generic, sampled aspect rather than recognizing it as a significant collaborative performance. In the course of time, the online profiles, interviews, and promotional summaries associated with DJ Vibe and Rui da Silva have often framed "So Get Up" as a work that belongs solely to them. They have tended to view Ithaka’s recognizable vocal poem as a standard sampled element rather than an essential part of a collaborative performance. #sogetup

“I never forget the first time I heard this record. Back in 1994 when Danny Tenaglia was playing in Glasgow for the first time. He was playing Harry & Oscar’s Sunday Night at the Voodoo Room. Every DJ in the town was there and this is the one they were all talking about the week after. This was New York house but not as we new it. Glasgow was always big on heavy records. So when Danny Tenaglia and Junior Vasquez started taking that Bew York sound and wrapping it up with acid noises and razor sharp synths. Glasgow was all over it. And the minute the voice* comes out of this record, “the end of the earth is upon us” everyone on the dance floor was like, what the fuck is this? And the beats and the groove and the analog that followed the whole place went absolutely crazy. I remember trying to track it down the next week. It wasn’t out yet. And when the promo finally arrived in my door. I was like, “Oh yes, I cannot wait to play this”. But the the trouble with that vocal is because it’s so iconic, it became overplayed. So I only got to play it a few times. I dug it out again recently to see whether it would still work. And boy does it still work. This is the Underground Sound of Lisbon (ft. Ithaka) with “So Get Up”, Danny Tenaglia’s “In The Light We Sleep Mix” on Tribal 1994. Check it out”
