Voodoo presents his second official release on Jackpot Records. A new tech-house track with a message for all of us: "The end of the earth is upon us, pretty soon it will all turn to dust, 'So Get Up!'" The vocal is taken from the eternal vocal-poem by Californian visual artist-songwriter, Ithaka (Ithaka Darin Pappas).

T78 "The Earthquake" feat. Ithaka

Italian superstar dj/producer T78, 

has just dropped a bomb on the 

e.p. Retro Future Vol. 2 for his imprint Autektone.

The highlight of the release 

(which also features the tracks "Kalamarr" and "Imp") 

is T78's fresh new techno remix of "The Earthquake"

a song he had originally collaborated on with fellow 

countrymen next generation for Ipnotika Records.

All of the at least seven existing versions of The Earthquake, 

feature the iconic 1992 vocal-poem So Get Up by Greek-

Californian artist and songwriter, 

Ithaka (or Ithaka Darin Pappas).

The poem was first written and recited for a radio program

Ithaka was hosting in Lisbon, Portugal. The first musical 

version of So Get Up (in February 1993) was recorded in 

Manchester for the labels Embryo Entertainment/Sweatlodge 

Records.

"Get Up Go Insane" by Ithaka (produced by Siba Giba)

 

Ithaka "Get Up I'm Free" a new collaboration between lyricist-vocalist Ithaka (Ithaka Darin Pappas) and French-American production legend, Siba Giba. The tune features elements of Ithaka's iconic 1992 vocal-poem "So Get Up" which Siba has crraftingly incorporated into an epic cinematic hip hop instrumental. 

The release is a joint venture between Sweatlodge Records (LA) and Overtime Records (NY), now available on all platforms.

Underground Sound Of Lisbon ft. Ithaka – So Get Up (1994)

So Get Up supuso el ir más allá de lo que era habitual, es decir, rock y fado. Fue publicado en 1994 como cara B de Chapter One y parte de la letra dice: “The end of the world is upon us, pretty soon it will all turn to dust”, un trabajo de Ithaka (ou Ithaka Darin Pappas), un artista griego-Californiano. La versión USL de la canción es en realidad un remix de la versión original de 1992 de Ithaka (quien también es el vocalista del remix de 1994).

So Get Up de USL ft. Ithaka conquistó el mundo cuando el sello Tribal America se lo dio a Junior Vazquez y Danny Tenaglia.

El mundillo de la música electrónica portuguesa está en plena efervescencia y es uno de los más originales de Europa. Como en otros muchos lugares todo empezó escuchando sonidos tecno y rave provenientes de EE.UU, Reino Unido y Alemania. Luego el Underground Sound Of Lisbon cambió todo el panorama durante las tres últimas décadas. El movimiento está muy influido por la lusofonía, los sonidos que los emigrantes de Angola y Cabo Verde llevaron a Portugal, que con el tiempo se ha convertido en algo más global.
